Enjoyable as these sorts of Hollywood epics go (complete with overture, intermission, and exit music). A bit of a disappointment from Anthony Mann, though I doubt he had that much control over the film, really. A far cry from his noir masterpieces, anyhow.
Sophia Loren was at her best when she was cold and stone-faced, and at her worst when she was amorous or distraught. Charlton Heston was his usual Ben Hur self.
